A friend of mine just recently just expressed a secret to me that has been going on in my mind for quite some time. She basically told me that to date Christian singles means to love them for life. I didn’t quite get that statement. What was that statement supposed to mean anyway? I have dated many Christian people and have found them interesting and lively. Yet, I still have to meet one in which I can love them for life.
I have also tried out Christian dating online which was also fun. In fact I still have my profile in case I am able to meet such a person that is meant for a lifetime. I thought again about what my friend said. I also took a deeper look into her marriage. I decided right then and there that she must be right because I have seen how her marriage to her husband has stayed strong and true all this time. They showed true love to one another in so many ways. Even through fights they still stayed true.
I decided to talk with my friend so that she could also shed more light and give advice to me so that I too could share her advice for those who want to date Christian singles. She told me several things that really brought light to my heart and mind.
When you date Christian singles, you need to realize that it is not all about you. It is about the both of you and about taking time to get to know the person more. Also it is important that you are a person who is willing to listen. When you go out on a date, be sure that if you have your listening ear ready as well a quick reply to anything that may have been said that would need a good reply.
She also mentioned that having a good laugh out on date will really take you places with your date partner. If both of you could share a sense of humor and have inside jokes can allow you to see the other side of a person. Another word of advice that she was willing to share to all singe Christians was not to be afraid to talk about your thoughts and feelings towards God.
Every single person wants to find a person who willing shares their passions and directions in life, so opening up about your own personal values will allow the person to get to know you even more. You can also talk about your family. Family is usually a very important topic because when people see that you are close with your family know your background and upbringing, the date partner will tend to feel more comfortable towards you.
I was thankful that I got to talk with my friend. She really pointed out that when you find that love for a lifetime it is something that is given by God. God himself pours the love into your heart and allows you to let it overflow into the person.
